Editions
Every edition includes a call for entries, two rounds of judging, screenings of the selection and public deliberations. Founded in 2022; the second edition was held in Shitang, Zhejiang, in 2025.

An international preliminary round and a final round. Shorts and mid-length work compete on the same stage, against the same standard.

Screenings of the selection, Q&As, masterclasses and public deliberations. The executive committee covers the cost of bringing selected filmmakers.

Partner festivals in Vesoul and Brussels receive films put forward from the selection.
2025
The second edition was staged together with the Donghai International Documentary Masterclass Camp in Shitang, Zhejiang — a stone fishing town on the East China Sea known as “the Notre-Dame of the East”. Twelve of 502 entries reached the final round, and five jurors decided the outcome after four hours of debate.

2022
The first edition called for entries from Chinese-language filmmakers worldwide and received 688 films. Rather than award conventional places, the jury created an Extraordinary Award and gave it to three authors of singular independence and force.
